Today, a selection of Boeing 747 photos at LBA, made up of Wardair, Corsair, Virgin, and United Arab Emirates. Sadly, due to work and other commitments I never was able to see such as Air Hong Kong or the BA 747 doing its demo flights to display the new Landor livery. I did see the BA 747 G-AWND on 4th November 1984 but due to only posessing a Kodak Instamatic back then, the photos I have are not worth posting. Perhaps someone else has good photos of these and would like to post them to complete the LBA 747 collection? My photos include Boeing 747 100, 200, 300 and SP versions.View attachment 14900View attachment 14901View attachment 14902View attachment 14903View attachment 14904View attachment 14905View attachment 14906View attachment 14907View attachment 14908

Has the 400 version ever visited would it ever be possible? I wish I'd have been old enough to see these arrive at leeds I was only a wee baby. I'm loving the nostalgic photos of past visitors furthest I can remember back are Britannia 757s keep the photos coming :)

I think the 747-400 and MD-11 are the only two heavies that have never been to LBA ??

I will leave to my good friend from South Yorkshire to confirm but I recall we have also had Thomas Cook A-330 and an Air Macau example which was operating for some tour company. Balkan Holidays also operated an A-330 for one season but I can't recall if it actually visited LBA.

What an invitation from Twev to go down into my South Yorkshire cellar to have a rummage through the mouse nibbled aviation records of the past!

Thomas Cook used Airbus 330-200 G-MDBD to operate TCX86P/86K from Manchester to Bridgetown on 20 November 2009.

Air Macau only visited with an Airbus 321 B-MAQ which operated the back end of a short summer series LXR2771/2 from and to Faro in 2003, but this series was introduced by Air Luxor Airbus 330-300 CS-TMT on 01 June 2003 which visited again a fortnight later.

BH Air Airbus 330-200 LZ-AWA substituted once for the smaller Airbus on the regular summer BGH5569/5570 Bourgas rotation on 12 September 2015.

And finally we had a Skyservice Airbus 330-300 C-FBUS which was based for three days in 2001 as a substitute for the Airtours Boeing 757-200, its first visit occurring on 19 March 2001 as AIH321P/321 from Manchester to Las Palmas.

Time to climb out of the basement.

Today's offering is a selection of British Midland types to have graced LBA between 1980 and their disappearance. If only they were around today! I have not included the BAC1-11 G-WLAD as this was posted previously, nor the more recent A319, A320, E135 or E145. Sadly I have not yet scanned photos of the British Midland F70, Shorts 360 or Saab 340 either.

Have seen this before but thought it worthy of a showing here on the nostalgia thread

Maybe they would have been better showing this instead of that terrible TV series recently :)
Wow amigos para siempre playing in the background.i mention this as I was in Barcelona two weeks back at the Olympic stadium and this tune was one of the Olympic tunes.by the way the views up there of aircraft landing at BCN is amazing!

Here's a few pic's of the British Midland Fokker 100 & Embraer 145 fleet as it was transitioning over to the new bmi brand in 2004/05 at LBA.

They are one airline I really do miss and was looking forward to seeing them return earlier this year before they collapsed..
