Then there's the A320s grounded too.
But some older ones are not and that still reduces the fleet size.
All six A320NEOs are currently in service.
Out of the 39x "older" A320s, 3x are in maintenance and 3x are still parked in Kiev - none are parked. Some are leaving/have left the fleet I believe.

Wizz is still accepting new A321NEOs, so even though there are other A321NEOs parked up (due to the well known engine issues), next summers schedule is showing at least 20x extra aircraft in service - yet LBA has not been on the receiving end of any schedule increases or new routes yet.

Wizz Air have just started put there winter 2025/26 schedule on sale and currently includes 11+ weekly flights on the following 4+ routes for Leeds/Bradford.

Gdansk = 3x weekly (Mon, Wed & Fri)
Warsaw = 3x weekly (Tue, Thu & Sat)
Bucharest = 3x weekly (Tue, Thu & Sat)
Cluj Napoca = 2x weekly (Mon & Fri)
This is good, from what i seem to remember recently they have been announcing the next seasons with 1/2 frequency reductions. good to see the full 11 weekly flights. I am really really hoping for more from Wizz. a lot of potential.

This is the good thing that is potentially now happening at LBA:
Ryanair Vs Wizz
Jet2 Vs easyJet, and to a certain extent Ryanair
Emerald UK Vs easyJet
Emerald EI Vs Ryanair
Competition is healthy and if any airline was potentially to walk away/massively reduced there is another already waiting in the wings.
Specifically to Wizz though we are told they are very happy with LBA so the aforementioned potential should develop as the fleet permits. And remember this is a winter, not summer, schedule we are talking about

easyJet seem to have scaled back BFS - UK routes which will benefit Emerald and I hope it does.
I wouldn't personally be mad if easyJet did a AM only BHD/BFS rotation especially in winter as they seem to fair better in the weather. but EI doing BHD x4 daily is impressive. second biggest second to BHX I believe on their network.

Personally want to see Wizz re-add KTW. Then new routes like KUN / VNO. There is a lot of potential from Wizz and hopefully LBA/can carve out a successful market.

Certainly doesn't suggest they are unhappy with LBA, or that routes are performing badly, as certain other airport supporters may have us believe. Let's hope more routes/frequency are added as their fleet issues recede
I don't think it was that they were unhappy with LBA, more that a certain airport over the way may have been making commercial offers that would be hard for the airline to refuse, to the probable detriment of the other airports around them.

It's a shame we are not seeing more from Wizz - I understand the A321 problems but compared to there first winter we have had a reduction. However we've still got them and they are happy with LBA.

For Comparison there first winter here:

Kakow = 2x weekly (Thu & Sun)
Katowice = 3x weekly (Mon, Wed & Fri)
Warsaw Chopin = 2x weekly (Mon & Fri)
Wroclaw = 2x weekly (Tue & Sat)
Bucharest = 3x weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri)
Cluj Napoca = 3x weekly (Mon, Wed & Fri)

I believe they favour the Katowice base over Krakow and Krakow doesn't work out for them.

We could do with some more routes but they ned their fleet back up and running. Budapest anyone? Rome and or Milan?

Vilnius is the obvious one. Wizz have a base there and the Ryanair flights were usually full . Another route lost due to Ryanair refusing to pay the airport fees. Seem to recall they axed all flights to Vilnius except the one from BHX.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
