It isn't just LBA. If you click on 'Flights' at the bottom of the TOM website, the available destinations from all UK airports come up and Crete/Heraklion doesn't come up as a flight only option from anywhere, but I did a dummy booking for a package tour departing Tuesday 14th July from LBA and 11 options came up, so the package holidays are definitely on sale.

I've never been a great Thomson fan so don't keep a check on what they are doing usually but after a good flight to Corfu with them in September I thought I would check their HER flights from LBA for next year.

In your experience White Heather is this the sort of thing they do on a regular basis, ie only offering packages and not flight only? I had expected the flights to be available but hadn't expected them to be competitively priced as their early booking of flights when I have checked in the past have always expensive.

No response as yet from them re my query. Not surprised I have to say.

I can't say I have noticed this before Airforced - in fact I was under the impression that charter flights always carried a small percentage of seat only passengers - perhaps not these days, but they used to do so as I often made use of these seat only flights myself, including with TOM from LBA. It will be interesting to see if this is just a delay loading flight only for Crete on to their booking system.

SNOWNMAN1 you maybe be interested in this bit of News. Thomson Holidays are now selling package holidays by taking seat allocations on both Monarch and Jet2 flights from Leeds/Bradford to Alicante, Malaga, Faro, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Cyprus for next summer 2015, Don't know if it includes the hotels you stay in though.

Good news is that this is all added extra package holidays punters to there own based aircraft flight operation as well!

Yes I miss the flying and the time spent in Europe and Africa plus the Middle East. I do not miss the night flights and simulator checks every 6 months. The pay cheque every month was also quite nice ! but managing to bumble on thanks to my pension. See you soon T.

lbaspotter/white heather
have just tried to book a Thomson holiday to Malaga for june 2015 from LBA nothing have also tried some of the other routes that were put on using jet2 or monarch nothing,i wonder if they have all been pulled.
regards sm1 :s_cry

I tried to book a holiday to Madeira without success. LBA came up as offering flights but when trying to book it came up "not available"

I doubt that if they are really supposed to have been happening, that they have already been pulled. More likely scenario is that they are going to operate but they have not yet been loaded into the booking system. Perhaps the availability hasn't yet been fully sorted with Jet2/Monarch, or contracts not yet signed. Lets hope that eventually they do become bookable. Even though it is not TOM aircraft, it will make the Thomson offering from LBA better than it has been in years, and a definite step in the right direction.

hi all
those extra flights with thomsons on jet2 and monarch for 2015 which have disappeared I wonder whether the news that t.u.i. have just signed a new long term deal with Doncaster could have anything to do with it??

hi all
Thompson have put back some of the extra flights from LBA for summer 2015 but the holiday we were looking at booking with them from LBA as had a price hike, its now
£75 pp more expensive than Doncaster, looks like there up to there old tricks again. 😢

I guess it is only to be expected that if Thomson are buying seats from another airline, and not using their own, they will charge more to cover their costs. I doubt also that they will have bought that many seats on each flight, so will be pretty confident that the few they have will sell at the high prices. At least it does give someone that LBA option. £75 is rather steep but if for example the flight is booked on Jet2, you would normally have to pay for your luggage on that flight - and that would be £50 return, so no doubt these additional charges all go towards covering those costs.

I suspect families may have to think twice before paying out a few hundred pounds extra - but individuals (for example, me!! 😛leasantry: ) might consider it worthwhile paying it rather than trekking to DSA - or MAN.

Nothing but a bare faced rip off if you ask me, thomson might aswell pull out altogether at LBA cos we all know they don't like the the place.

Okay got a question and hoping somebody on here might be able to help me out.

Dose anyone happen to have the Thomson Airways flight Numbers for the new summer Tuesday (PM) Leeds/Bradford - Crete-Heraklion service?

It would be much appreciated, as it will help me with the first edition of the forthcoming summer 2015 timetable.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
